Isla Verde Beach
Located in Carolina, Puerto Rico, this beach is only 5 minutes away from Tres Palmas Inn. You can visit this famous beach and have a Piña Colada right on the sand. There are hotels, casinos, shops, restaurants, bars and more all within a short distance.

 

 

Plaza las Americas Shopping Center
It’s about 20 minutes away in taxi from our beach hotel. Is the biggest shopping center in the caribbean and one of the biggest in the US. It carry a wide selection of stores like Macy’s, BCBG Maxazria, Abercrombie & Fitch and restaurants like P.F. Chang’s and Cheesecake Factory.

 

 

El Yunque Rain Forest
Located in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, El Yunque is the only rain forest in the U.S. National Park Service. This lush tropical forest is located 45 minutes from the city of San Juan. Visitors will find a variety of fascinating trails including La Mina Water Falls, Mt. Britton Cloud Forest, and easier trails such as Caiminito. Explore a wide variety of tropical plants including oversized ferns, bromeliads, tropical palms and more. The forest is also home to Puerto Rico’s rare endangered Parrot, also known and the Puerto Rico Amazon, or Iguaca. It’s lime green feathers with blue tips can be challenging to see among the dense foliage of the forest. A sighting is a rare treat. A visit to the forest is a true delight for even the most well-travelled visitor.

 

 

Luquillo Beach
Luquillo Beach is one of Puerto Rico’s most beloved beaches. From the shores you can see El Yunque mountain towering in the distance. The beach was given an international “Blue Flag” award for its outstanding water quality, and park facilities. Guest will enjoy lifeguards, bathrooms, and a variety of food & beverage options with the Kioskos close by. The Kioskos are a favorite among locals and travelers alike. With over 60 different kiosks they provide a variety of authentic Puerto Rican street food. Pair all of this with calm waters protected by a gorgeous reef, and you will understand why Luquillo Beach is one of the most popular on the island. Luquillo beach is located 45 minutes from San Juan, and 5 minutes from the entrance to the rainforest.
Camuy Caves
Camuy Puerto Rico The cave system was discovered in 1958 and was first documented in the 1973. There is archaeological evidence that these caves were explored hundreds of years ago by the Taíno Indians, Puerto Rico first inhabitants. Over 10 miles of caverns, 220 caves and 17 entrances to the Camuy cave system have been mapped so far. This, however, is only a fraction of the entire system which many experts believe still holds another 800 caves. The 268-acre park built around the cave system features tours of some of the caves and sinkholes, and is one of the most popular natural attractions in Puerto Rico
The Arecibo Observatory
The Arecibo Observatory is a radio telescope in the municipality of Arecibo. From its construction in the 1960s until 2011, the observatory was managed by Cornell University. The observatory’s 1,000 ft (305 m) radio telescope is the world’s largest single-aperture telescope. It is used in three major areas of research: radio astronomy, aeronomy, and radar astronomy. Scientists who want to use the telescope submit proposals that are evaluated by an independent scientific board. The telescope has made appearances in motion picture and television productions and got more recognition in 1999 when it began to collect data for the SETI@home project. It has been listed on the American National Register of Historic Places beginning in 2008. There are tour operators that will pick you up in our hotel and take you to the observatory.
